The Faeries' Oracle, by Brian Froud
The first thing that caught my eye with this card was the Master number 44. Out of only two cards I have ever turned with this deck on this site (yesterday and today), both of these have been Master numbers, which first of all tells me that the significance of the meaning is perhaps more global than individual; that many things are going on in an intricate fashion in ways we can't quite understand yet; and then the meaning of the card itself: not to give up on what seems too dark and hopeless, and that light can even be found in the deepest shadows. Lys of the Shadows represents the fairy (or consciousness) that works with darkness and despair, including feelings of bondage, addiction, enslavement, and such traumas. Lys shines his light - tiny but super-bright - into where its needed the most, and also helps healers and therapists who work in this area to find the strength needed to carry on and shine themselves. This is a beautiful card that tells is to find the light within the dark today; to not give up; and reminds us that all things can be healed - all that's needed is the right door to open.
Crystal healing tip: Snowflake Obsidian, Shungite, and Black Tourmaline are good to use when working with your shadow side, as well as some volcanic stones, and if it all feels a little too dark, add Selenite.
